What We Are
Dancefloor NYC is a digital publication documenting the city’s electronic pulse — the clubs, DJs, and spaces that keep New York moving after midnight.
We cover the culture the way it actually feels: up close, underground, and alive.
From Ridgewood basements to rooftop hi-fi sanctuaries, we translate the city’s sound into words, images, and movement.
Why We Exist
The algorithms don’t know what a floor feels like.
They can’t describe the pressure of a well-tuned system or the social gravity of a shared groove.
We built Dancefloor NYC to preserve that energy — to give New York’s house and techno culture a permanent voice.
Our writing lives where journalism and rhythm overlap.
What We Cover
Venues — the rooms, sound systems, and crews that define the city’s sonic architecture.
DJs & Artists — the residents, selectors, and producers shaping tomorrow’s sound.
Events — weekly picks, underground highlights, and seasonal festival coverage.
Culture — essays, profiles, and long-form stories on the city’s club DNA.
Gear & Sound — tools, systems, and sonic design shaping how we hear the music.
The Ethos
We don’t chase hype.
We chase pulse.
Every piece we publish — from a photo essay to a club profile — comes from the same belief: that dancefloors are cultural engines, not byproducts.
Our tone is documentary, but our heart is in the booth.
Who’s Behind It
Dancefloor NYC is built by people who live this city and this sound.
Writers, DJs, producers, photographers — contributors who still spend more time on the floor than behind the press line.
The project is founded and curated by Tony, under JI CLAN LLC.
